PHOTOGRAPHY ALL MIXED UP
The purported “van Gogh” image looks nothing like his self-portraits, and you might like to know that the owner, joe Buberger, once offered an “Abraham Lincoln” $5 million with no takers. He talked Christies into putting the image in one of their auctions, but all attendees sat on their bidding paddles. I wonder what rare portrait he’ll come up with next?

The Van Gogh cabinet card has been validated!
The Lincoln daguerreotype, five pages in American Heritage, is the first photo of him ca.1843.
