Introducing the hotly anticipated FLIR ONE for smartphones. A small adapter that plugs into your lightning connector (or alternative) to produce an Infra Red image. At just $249 in the US and £199 in the UK, you can now easily afford to experiment with non-visible wavelength light using your phone.

FLIR, who’ve been making IR cameras for decades have only recently joined the smartphone accessory market, however they’re already making an impact.
How can it be used in real life? Well, Flir gives an amusing comic book run down of different applications it can be used in, from crime fighting to checking your food! Neat.
The orginal FLIR smartphone camera had a very poor resolution, and it’s not that much better at 160×120, however Gizmodo reports that the difference is quite noticeable.
Spare us all the practical implications like home checking. What we’re really interested in is how this device will be used creatively by photographers.
